Where you are greeted by the Dachstein to the north and the peaks of the Radstädter Tauern to the south, a magical mountain world reveals itself before you, enchanting both hikers and tourers alike. Setting out from Radstadt, you make your way along clearly marked hiking trails, crossing alpine meadows in bloom and passing rustic mountain inns, on your journey up to the two-thousand-metre peaks ahead. With the mountain conquered, the spectacular views are ample reward for your efforts: Such as those from the 1,800-metres-high Rossbrand for example – which, incidentally, you can also reach by car – serving up panoramic views of around 150 Alpine giants. And there is no shortage of refreshments along the way, either, with traditional hearty dishes from the world of Pongau country cooking available at cafés and mountain inns. New this summer: Uniform trail signs make it even easier to get your bearings, while the hiking maps also reflect the brand-new system.
